DJ Akademiks Apologized to Reginae Carter After Relationship Comments

On September 24, DJ Akademiks hosted a stream on Youtube. During the hours long stream on multiple topics, he spoke about Regina’s Carter. Akademiks spoke in particular about Carter’s jailed ex-boyfriend, YFN Lucci, and her current boyfriend, YouTuber Armon Warren.

He said: “You know this b**ch– let me not call her a b**ch. These chicks love a hood n**ga until he’s facing 25 to life. Everything was all good with them until she realized that n***a caught a RICO.”

Akademiks further talked about her current boyfriend, saying Warren looks far more feminine than Reginae. “He’s the opposite of gangsta”, he stated.

Akademiks’ remarks didn’t go well with Reginae’s mom, Toya Johnson, who slammed him for criticizing her daughter. Johnson took to Instagram and posted: “I hate when I let people take me out my character but one thing about it I don’t play about my kids. @akademiks stop playing with my child. You to grown to be worrying about what a 23 yr old doing. Calling her a b*tch and all that other sh*t is not cool. You men are worst than females and this sh*t is getting out of hand.”

DJ Akademiks appeared on The Breakfast Club with Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy where he apologized for calling her the “B” word but says he is not apologizing for using the word as a whole because rappers are constantly using it. He also maintained that his comments about women liking “bad” guys until they are locked up in prison, then they go looking for a “good” guy.
