22 YO Illinois Woman Dead After Her 3-Year-Old Toddler Accidently Shot Her

A 22-year-old Chicago metro woman is dead after she was accidently shot in the neck by her 3-year-old toddler. The incident occurred at the Food-4-Less in the 1000-block of East Sibley Blvd. in Dolton, IL. According to police, the 3-year-old boy accessed the gun that was in the back seat of the car and started playing with it. He accidently fired the gun, striking his mother. She died shortly after. His father is now facing a misdemeanor gun charge. The 23-year-old father admitted the gun was his. He legally owned the gun but unlawfully transported the weapon in a vehicle.
